More about this trip
We bring you to the stunning peninsula of Malangen, a 45 minutes’ drive from Tromsø city, with the mountains in the backyard. During this trip, your guide tells you more about the surrounding and the northern lights, preparing you for the chase we start after the dinner part. If we encounter northern lights on our way to the local restaurant, we take our time to take in the natural phenomenon.
To give you the utmost comfort during this activity, our chef Tove will serve the dinner within her heated lavvu with cosy bonfire, a true unique place to enjoy the 2-course local dinner. If the Northern Lights appear at this authentic dinner location, we enjoy it.
After the dinner, we head into the surroundings, chasing the stunning lights, accompanied by views on the mountains, sea or fjords. From Malangen, we can go into all directions to increase the chances to witnessing the lights. During the chase, we make a stop for a sweet dessert snack ‘lefse’ made by Tove and a hot drink.
There is a high focus on local food tasting, emerging in local life and stories and the northern lights. An ideal experience for precious moments, filled with rich experiences, while enjoying time together in an unconventional way.
Nice to know: During spring and summer, Tove is busy planting, caring for and harvesting her flowers and herbs. Many spices, used in her kitchen, come from her own garden. This locally owned company started in 1994, on the land they own for more than over 150 years, with focus on organic and fresh cuisine.
