More about this trip
Our Northern Cuisine and Aurora Chase combines two precious local ingredients: the northern lights and locally grown and prepared cuisine by a Norwegian chef in an unconventional North Norwegian setting. This is a small-group tour, to give you a relaxed and cosy experience while triggering your senses.
We bring you to the stunning peninsula of Malangen, a 45 minutes’ drive from Tromsø city, with the dramatic mountains in the backyard. During this trip, your guide tells you more about the surroundings, the northern lights, and so preparing you for the chase we start after dinner. If we encounter northern lights on our way to the local restaurant, we take our time to take in the natural phenomenon.
To give you the utmost comfort during this activity, our chef Tove will serve the dinner within her heated lavvu with cosy bonfire, a truly unique place to enjoy the 2-course local dinner.
After dinner, we head into the surroundings, chasing the stunning lights, accompanied by views of the mountains, and fjords. From Malangen, we can go in any direction to increase the chances of spotting the lights. Along the way, we make a stop for a sweet dessert snack, ‘lefse’, made by Tove, and a hot drink.
There is a high focus on local food tasting, immersing in local life, stories and the northern lights. An ideal experience for precious moments, filled with rich experiences, while enjoying time together in an unconventional way.
